Oyster Lets You Share the Gift of Books All Year Long

oysterIf you are shopping for gifts for the digital book lover in the family, Oyster Books has a compelling offering. The subscription-based eBook service that works like Netflix for digital books, lets you give a subscription to its service as a gift.

The service costs $9.95 a month and you can gift a custom number of months, up to 24 months. You don’t have to become a member yourself, so this does not present a problem diehard print readers that are shopping for eBook-loving friends. You can give the gift via email or through a physical print out. If you choose to deliver the gift via email, you can schedule when it arrives.

The gift recipient can redeem the subscription when they are ready by downloading the iOS app. Note that Oyster only runs on Apple devices running iOS 7.
