Chinese Publisher Plagiarizes Web Site for Coffee Table Book![]() Darren Di Lieto is the editor of The Little Chimp Society, an "illustration news portal" that features interviews with several artists. Recently, he discovered that those interviews, along with their accompanying illustrations, had been swiped by a Hong Kong publisher and repackaged as a $100 book called Colorful Illustrations 93 ° C. To rub things in, the publishers also included a CD-ROM with all those images and didn't even bother to change the filenames. "Personally this has hurt me as I've spent the last three years building the archive of Artist interviews on the LCS," Di Lieto writes on his blog. "But what has really made me angry is that all that work included in the book has been stolen from the illustrators involved with some of them even being credited for work that is not their own... Someone has made a lot of money from this book and it wasn't me or the unknowing contributors." One of those illustrators, Luc Latulippe, adds that the ISBN on the book is fake, as is the contact info for the publisher, "Great Creativity organization." He's taking an active role in encouraging others to spread the word "to shame these bogus publishers into removing this book from circulation and scare them back into their caves."
