Remember back in April, when we regaled you with a series of posts about writers too cute for words and hottie literati? Well, we always felt it was kind of silly that writers got to have all the fun, so after consulting with our mediabistro.com supervisors, GalleyCat is thrilled to announce our 1st-ever poll to determine the publishing industry's most gorgeous and handsome staffers. This week, we'll be taking nominations, and the rules are pretty simple:

• Send us a picture of your candidate, along with a brief description of what they do in publishing and why they're so darn hot. Headshots would be great; at any rate, please try to keep the file size manageable.
• Anybody who works for a publishing house or literary agency is eligible. We were going to include bookstores, but we figured that there's so much sexiness there it would crowd everyone else out; they'll have their own contest later if this works out.
• Yes, you can nominate yourself.
• Nominations close Friday. Next week, we'll sort through all the candidates, pick 3-5 men and 3-5 women, make sure they won't be mortified to be objectified on the Internet, and present them for your voting pleasure.

I have no idea what sort of prizes other than personal satisfaction are going to come into play here, but let's give this thing a whirl, shall we?
