Simon & Schuster To Publish Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Memoir

Simon & Schuster has acquired Arnold Schwarzenegger’s autobiography, which is slated for publication in October 2012. The working title of the work is Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story. This will be Schwarzenegger’s second book from the publisher. Simon & Schuster put out The Education of a Bodybuilder, which came out in 1977 and is still in print.

The new book will chronicle the Govenator’s life from immigrating to the U.S. and bodybuilding to acting and running California.

Jonathan Karp, publisher of Simon & Schuster released this statement about the book: “Nobody has a life story even close to his. To go from poor immigrant to world class athlete to the biggest movie star in the world to Governor of California is an incredible journey.”

Simon & Schuster controls the worldwide rights and will be selling the book to international publishers at the Frankfurt Book Fair next month. The publisher is putting out editions in the United States, Australia, Canada, India and the U.K. and has already sold the German to Hoffmann und Campe and the Dutch rights to A.W. Bruna.
