Snail Mail Novel Serialization

Turn+Back.JPGAs publishers build fancier eBook offerings and iPhone apps, one writer has decided to use good old fashioned snail mail to serialize his new novel.

Author Nicholas Rombes will publish “Nightmare Trails at Knifepoint” in a series of inventive mailings. The Rumpus has more details: “Rombes is publishing NTaK via the U.S. Postal Service. Not online. Not on his Facebook page. But stuffed into small manila envelopes, addressed by hand, with personal messages typed out on old hotel stationary and delivered right to your doorstep.”

The “haunted detective novel” features a character that may or may not exist from Rombes’ previous book, “A Cultural Dictionary of Punk 1974-1982.” He stopped by the Morning Media Menu earlier this year to discuss how he promoted that project.
