Star Wars Reading Day Is October 6th

On October 6th, more than one thousand book stores and libraries will celebrate Star Wars Reading Day, an international celebration of books about the science fiction series. Readers are invited to dress up in costume and go to participating local bookstores which are hosting Star Wars reading parties.

Lucasfilms and its publishing partners Abrams, Chronicle Books, Dark Horse, Del Rey, DK Publishing, Random House Audio, Scholastic, Titan Magazines and Workman teamed up for the event.

Here is more from Starwars.com: “All events will have giveaways and a raffle. Select events will have authors and/or costumed characters on hand from the 501st Legion, the Rebel Legion, the Mandalorian Mercs and the R2 Builders Club.”

To get fans in the mood on Friday October 5th, Goodreads is hosting a panel of Star Wars book authors who will answer questions and discuss works.
