The 2009 edition of the The Associated Press Stylebook--the writing Bible for journalists of all stripes--now includes an entry about the microblogging website, Twitter.

In addition to this new terminology, the book also includes brand-new information on writing about Beyonce, Timothy Geithner, texting, and baba ghanoush. Among the unhappier additions to the book are a full lexicon of recession-era entries about credit default swaps and derivatives.
