Simon & Schuster Floods the Zone with YA Authors

Last October, Readergirlz celebrated a month of guest appearances by YA authors, from Meg Cabot to Stephanie Meyer. Recognizing the marketing potential of such a project, Simon & Schuster announced yesterday that it will jam more than 100 authors into the Simon Pulse Blogfest for two weeks in March. "Readers will be asked to submit questions for the authors in advance," according to a press release, "and then fourteen final questions will be selected," with the authors posting their responses each day, with additional feedback from the readers.

From a marketing perspective, it's worth noting that the publisher "has already confirmed front-of-store retail placement at national chains" for the featured authors and their books. (Maybe they can also get some short spots on whatever CBS shows are popular with the youth these days, too! Or at least ask the folks over at Viacom for some space on The N...) A full list of those authors confirmed at this time follows...
