Primary responsibility: Market editor for six distinct magazines in the lower Fairfield County area
• Produce product pages for shelter publication, athome.
• Produce product pages for all of town publications, covering home furnishings, accessories, gift items and new books.
• Oversee, create and manage two biannual Special Sections focused on beauty, fashion, accessories, jewelry and bridal trends.
• Source and produce annual stand-alone gift portfolio.
• Conceptualize and produce editorial photo shoots related to fashion and home décor trends.
• Source photography and images, manage credits, track and input all necessary information for print and web
• Write short personality profiles of designers.
Required Skills:
• Must be able to multitask and work on various projects for various editors simultaneously.
• Capacity to find products available through local retailers for the various market demographics of each publication.
• Regularly attend industry events including New York fashion week, gift shows, and furniture shows.
• Maintain relationships with local and national businesses and public relations professionals to stay abreast of new product lines, boutique arrivals, store openings, expansions, etc.
• Work closely with art department on look and feel of projects and pages.
• Write effective copy to engage the reader for print and digital audience.
• Ability to clearly and effectively communicate ideas to editorial and implement them within specified deadlines.
• Working knowledge of inDesign, PhotoShop and Adobe Bridge a must.
• Web-based experience a plus.
