The NEJM Business Manager develops and manages the full budget cycle and monitors the overall fiscal performance for the NEJM product line. This position supports the NEJM General Manager by ensuring that business strategy is informed by sound financial modeling and analysis and in-depth competitor tracking. Collaborates with key stakeholders to develop and recommend pricing strategies and structures. Serves as the primary contact with Finance regarding NEJM budgets, forecasts and ongoing projections. Representative responsibilities include: Develop long range financial plans, annual budgets, semi-annual forecasts and ongoing high level projections for the NEJM product line; identifies and reports on relevant trends and market developments to executive management team; develops analytical financial models as needed to evaluate new NEJM product strategies, offerings and enhancements and to assess risk or opportunity within the product line associated with adjacent or related offerings in other areas of NEJM Group.
Required Skills
Ability to demonstrate a strong leadership style and excel in a fast-paced and challenging, yet collaborative, work environment. Demonstrated aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analyses. Solid understanding of financial concepts, statements and financial analysis. Strong communication skills, both oral and written, proven ability to present work to executives and solid project management skills.
Required Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, finance or related field plus 5 to 7 years in a business management or analyst role, preferably in a professional journal or publishing setting. Experience settting financial targets and monitoring performance. Experience in managing projects with a number of stakeholders from different functional areas.
