| Job Requirements |
Required: Bachelor's Degree preferably in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, Marketing or related fields. Minimum of 2 years experience, preferably in a higher education setting, although not required. Must have excellent writing, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Must have a strong knowledge of how to cover an event, with an ability to identify key aspects and then leverage those for use in editorial, video or photo media. Must have efficiency, editorial judgment, creative direction, understanding of technology and a working knowledge of webpage management, social media, video production and photography.

Bergen Community College has an opportunity for a part-time Public Relations Assistant. Responsibilities will include serving as an editorial professional capable of writing and editing copy for myriad projects including news releases, advertisements, brochures, newsletters, posters, flyers, scripts, speeches, webpages and eblasts; serving as a liaison to members of the media with respect to distributing news and photo releases; pitching story ideas with the intent of securing news coverage and other duties as assigned.
