This is a task-oriented, roll-up your sleeves position. Immediately develop brochure of Hurricane Sandy stories for print distribution & create images/videos of same; primarily assist in development & production of effective marketing campaigns. Work closely with director & sr. copywriter to develop concepts into specific marketing media: print, video, web, storyboards, billboards, e-appeals, etc.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Brainstorm with CW, other team members regarding story concepts
- Correspond/liaison with management of disaster case management programs/agencies to identify Sandy survivors
- Complete tasks and logistics to obtain final end goal of a Brochure featuring stories of Sandy Survivors
- Travel between counties to speak with case managers and Sandy Survivors
- Write copy according to instruction provided
- Present ideas to internal colleagues
- Gain an understanding of agency target audience & competitive landscape
- Project management
- Work with marketing department and funders to maintain branding and stylized templates
- Review all copy with identified parties and CW
- Make text corrections to creative materials (e.g. stories, scripts, storyboards)(as requested)
- Review assigned project proofs before being routed to outside vendors
- Assist with writing of press releases
- Capture images and recordings on videotape and translating those images into an edited piece.
- Videotape program material for production using video camera equipment; make technical and creative decisions regarding such elements as appropriate lighting, shooting angle, placement and type of microphones audio needs, locations, use of movement and interviews.
- Act as a Producer/Videographer in the field.
- Exercise independent judgment in the assembling and editing of videotaped material for broadcast to ensure visual cohesiveness by assessing narrative and visual context
- Edit and assembles final audio/video program material; ensures consistency and relevancy to production; monitors technical quality of end product.
- Maintain accurate records, logs and transcribes production activities.
- Submit a weekly reports detailing work execution
BA; 3-5 yrs marketing experience; must have video/editing experience. Excellent writing, proof-reading, detail-oriented skills. Proficiency with MS Office programs, Final Cut Pro, iMovie & other editing software a must.
