NBC Universal Technical Operations is NBCUls worldwide technical strategy & operations responsible for content preservation, protection, and fulfilment across all platforms. Technical Operations is focused around four key efforts: (1) Content Management, (2) Mastering & Fulfilment Operations, (3) Broadcast Operations, and (4) International Technical Operations. The Anti Piracy department in Technical Operations supports all of NBC Universals content globally with (1) security procedures across the supply chain, (2) monitoring & take down services for digital theft platforms and (3) business intelligence services to measure the demand and supply sides of piracy.
The Content Security Analyst will assist the Anti Piracy team in forensics analysis, fingerprinting operations as well as software development needed for content security purposes to keep us current with the latest piracy trends. Will identify patterns that will aide in understanding the pirate ecosystem from a source piracy perspective and help to make changes to business processes to reduce the availability of our content illegally. Ensure that all systems are functioning correctly and make recommendations to remedy any system issues. This position will also work with other personnel both internal and external to recommend courses of action to mitigate the risks to NBC Universals assets.
* Analyze pirated content and identify patterns of repeat offenders
* Implement new features into our automated environment and modify web interface to appropriately reflect all changes
* System administration
* Create custom reports regarding source piracy
* Assist in software development of new functionalities to allow for more advanced automated forensics analysis to better track source piracy and
* Evaluate and advise on new technologies used for content security such as watermarking and fingeprprinting
* Minimum 3 years experience with a deep technical knowledge of forensics watermarking and fingerprinting technologies
* At least 3 years of related work experience including:
* Perl/PHP in a Linux environment
* MSSQL and Shell Scripting skills
* Ability to develop in mixed operating system environment
* Object oriented programming experience
* Understanding network transfer protocols including secure streaming technologies
* Willingness to work overtime, and on weekends with short notice
* Must be willing to work at Universal Studios, Universal City location
* Must be willing to take drug test and submit to a background investigation
* Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
