This position is in CUNY's Executive Compensation Plan. All executive positions require a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and eight years' related experience.

Preferred Qualifications include: Master's degree in marketing, public relations, journalism, or related field; extensive experience developing and managing integrated communications activities, including supervision of staff and budget; experience with the technical fields of web design, print design, writing and editing, marketing, brand management, public relations, and project management; experience working with national and international media outlets; and experience in higher education communications and marketing.

The successful candidate should show appreciation for Brooklyn College mission, tradition, and future directions; demonstrated skill in message development and audience identification for the institution and the administration. Proven ability to work collaboratively to solve problems and motivate professional team.
About Our Company Brooklyn College/CUNY seeks an Assistant Vice President for Communications and Marketing to lead the college’s integrated marketing and communications strategy and provide primary oversight of the Office of Communications and Marketing. S/he is responsible for enhancing the image, visibility, and understanding of Brooklyn College locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally. As a member of the President's cabinet, the AVP works closely with the senior leadership team, serves as the College's chief communications and marketing officer, and provides leadership and oversight to marketing, branding, media communications, and public relations across all areas of the College.

Responsibilities include marketing strategy and integration, digital and interactive communications, visual identity and editorial standards, advertising, public relations, marketing collateral, and collection and dissemination of data and information needed to promote the college's programs, people, and priorities.

Bachelor’s degree and eight years’ related experience required.
