Job Description:
The Program Development Coordinator works closely with the Vice President of Events and Vice President, Editorial Director on the program development process for the organization's portfolio of conferences, virtual events and webinars. This position is responsible for content development, speaker recruitment and support and writing and proofreading program abstracts.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop content expertise in the industries covered by our portfolio of magazines
* Cultivate a large database of potential speakers through editorial contacts, industry events, speakers bureaus and other outreach
* Craft conference themes and session descriptions
* Develop new programming for HCM-TV (HCM-TV is our hub for online content delivery; videos, webcasts, virtual events, etc)
* Create and maintain content calendar for HCM-TV
* Work with marketing on brochures and collateral to promote the programs, including posting to social media
* Assist with the conference material production process including writing, proofreading, editing and posting materials to the event website as they become available
* Support speakers in creating relevant presentations
* Collect, review and approve all final presentations
* Correspond with speakers regarding pending deadlines, travel requirements, session confirmations and evaluation results
* Support registration activities for speakers
* Coordinate the speaker honorarium payment process
Computer Skills:
Basic knowledge of the below is preferred:
* Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
* Virtual events/webinar platforms
* Social media tools (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn)
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree, focus in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations or other related field preferred.
* Three years of professional experience, preferably in a conference development setting
* Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
* Ability to deliver high quality customer service
* Ability to analyze and solve time sensitive and sometimes complex problems
* Ability to manage delivery of project deliverables according to schedule
