The Manager of Brand Promotion will be responsible for guiding the promotion of msnbc programs and digital / social properties and showcasing our shows and talent within the broader context of the msnbc Lean Forward brand.
* 4-6 years experience in marketing / promotion at a news organization or creative agency.
* Lead the promotions team to develop and implement strategic and buzz-worthy promotions, partnerships and event marketing for all original series and brand initiatives.
* Experience developing and guiding marketing initiatives across multiple channels including digital and social media, traditional and non-traditional advertising and grassroots events.
* Develop partnership and sponsorship opportunities that fit with network goals and initiatives and effectively negotiate, manage and execute all reciprocal marketing deals and strategic partnerships.
* Manage day-to-day relationships with internal departments and third party vendors.
* The ideal candidate will have a strong account management background and a demonstrated track record of combining strategic and creative thinking skills with the ability to deliver flawless execution.
* Ability to think and write creatively, handle multiple projects and keep pace in a quickly moving department are required
* Comfortable working in a fast paced environment and under tight deadlines
* Ability to propose and initiate creative solutions
* Ability to Prepare, maintain and manage budgets for all promotional programs
* Must be an entrepreneurial go-getter and strong team player who understands the fast pace ever changing nature of the news environment.
* Interest / experience in politics and / or issues based marketing initiatives strongly preferred.
