Job Requirements HNW is looking for freelance writers, at both the mid and senior level, with financial services industry experience for project and contract-based work. We are looking for established practitioners who can “speak the language” on a wide range of wealth management and investment strategies and products and can craft compelling, needs-based and promotional content for use across a range of mediums.

Experience & Responsibilities:
Conceptualization
• Experience & prior knowledge in wealth management, investment, and retirement topics, including common products & basic strategies
• Practical comprehension of how content is consumed and what engages in different mediums (e.g. e-mail, vs. print, vs. social, etc.)
• Can grasp a client’s brand & business objectives and translate them into a compelling audience experience
• Can develop new ideas, participate in brainstorming sessions, give input into a creative brief and ask the right questions
• Able to contribute a range of innovative options to client problems (conservative as well as testing or outside the limits) while developing further knowledge and understanding of a client’s business
• Crafts a compelling story using both content and visual elements including graphics (charts, illustrations, etc.)

Execution
• Organizes and present concepts and rationale in a clear manner
• Excellent writing and editing skills, particularly in web and digital communications
• Creates multiple types of copy: email campaigns, newsletters, site content, educational or instructional copy, long-form creative copy, and online media including Web pages, social media, slide shows and animations.
• Able to adapt tone and language to reflect the brand identity of each client
• Eye for detail that includes editing, proofing and ensuring adherence to brand guidelines/voice (varies by client) and editorial policy
• Understands usability issues enough to work with design to achieve optimal experience
• Knowledge of current marketing best practices and trends to drive end user behavior and results
• Results-oriented; seeks out and is able to take feedback and incorporate learning’s to improve creative performance/skills


Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communication or a related field
• Writing experience for the Financial Services category (Wealth Management, Investment, Mass Affluent), B2B or B2C
-- Mid-Level: 3+ years
-- Senior Level: 10+ years
• Provide examples of work that illustrate types and depth of experience and projects
• Advertising or interactive agency experience preferred
• Experience with online and offline media preferred
• Strong experience on cross-channel and/or direct marketing initiatives
• Experience managing content development and publishing
• Experience in social media marketing and building social media engagement (i.e., Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint required; Photoshop, WordPress or HootSuite a plus
• Strong team player and positive thinker who can effectively collaborate with internal team members and clients
• Sees other people's points of view and absorbs client/team feedback
• Shows a high level of initiative to manage multiple projects simultaneously without compromising quality of work
• Reliable, dependable, resourceful
• Keeps self current in the category as well as in new marketing and advertising techniques/trends
