Job Description:
The marketing consultant for Home Delivery will be responsible for all internal and external online acquisition marketing for The New York Times’ home delivery product (Print). She/he will manage the strategy, execution and optimization of external online customer acquisition initiatives via various channels including paid search marketing, display advertising, email list rental mobile and social media marketing. This position manages a multi-million dollar marketing budget and is responsible for forecasting and expense management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: - Manage the company’s online customer acquisition programs to acquire quality subscribers. - Manage growth and optimization of online marketing programs to meet subscription, cost per order and margin goals. - Be on the forefront of online trends within mobile marketing, new social media tools, and digital innovations; identify and implement tests and best practices and continue to be an early adopter of these new technologies. - Budgeting, Forecasting, Reporting – Budget, forecast and report on subscriptions and marketing expenses. - Leadership – Requires strong relationships and collaboration with external vendors, and internal groups such as: Marketing Operations, Finance, Customer Insight Group and Creative Services. - Operational Excellence – Manage the planning, scheduling and execution of programs and campaigns on time, on target and on budget through effective planning, logistics and implementation. Determine best strategy, vendors, resources and processes to streamline execution and improve accuracy. - Presentation and Communication – Responsible for reporting results and presenting plans to senior management, leading meetings, and delivering oral and written presentations. Requires outgoing personality who is able to influence others with fact and passion for results.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. - Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, preferred - 5-7 years’ experience in direct response, B2C marketing, with at least 3 years directly managing large scale online marketing programs - Experience with all forms of digital marketing including paid search, display, mobile, and social media; proven ability to significantly increase sales and maximize efficiency - Strong analytical capability with experience in forecasting and website analytics - Must be self-motivated with an ability to take initiative in a challenging, fast-paced environment with the ability to prioritize many tasks across various teams within the organization - Strong oral and written communication skills
