- An expert in this space; you understand the intersections of paid media, PR and marketing. You know where each fits in, best practices and learned some tough lessons along the way.
- A big thinker. While we were one of the first successful startups in New York, Meetups are so much bigger than that. There's a worldwide need to connect and you're going to lead the charge.

We're starting a local community revolution! Our goal is a ''Meetup Everywhere about Most Everything'', and we're on our way. We help people ''use the internet to get off the internet'' because Meetups change lives and can change the world.

We’ve been focused on building and improving Meetup but the time has come to get smarter, braver and louder about why it’s special.
It's weird: We're growing faster than ever, but we currently operate with nobody focused on communications, marketing, PR, or brand. We have enormous potential to change culture, so it's time to better articulate what's so amazing about the Meetup movement. We're looking for a Communications Director to lead the effort.
As a Communications Director, you'll...
- Drive brand & voice development; work with CEO & leadership team and ensure that our brand ID & voice (including mission, vision, values) is crisp, clear, and out there.
- Assume the role of Meetup's lead spokesperson; whether it's leveraging existing relationships, forging new ones or evangelizing the brand, you're on it.
- Be on-call and proactive to ensure that everything we produce (product, recruiting, community support, social media, investor relations, etc) is on-voice.
- Build a small team to handle media outreach, writing/editing and PR.
