About Our Company THE WEEK Magazine is taking applications for a freelance photo editor during the months of October, November and December 2013 and January 2014.

THE WEEK distills the best news, opinion, and ideas from the U.S. and international media providing readers with ''all they need to know about everything that matters.'' The magazine's coverage is broad, encompassing domestic and international news, global commentary, and the latest developments in business, technology, arts, culture, and leisure pursuits.

Both the print magazine and the website contain content that is delivered with matter-of-fact style, considerable wit, and a fast-paced flow making them both the first stop for time-pressed individuals looking to get up to speed in a hurry.

Duties include:

Acquiring all images for the magazine (this is all research, no production)
Silhouetting images in Photoshop
Working closely with Art Director and Editorial team
Weekly billing for department
Responsible for acquiring images and writing text for Properties page
Preparing examples and images for cover illustrators

Specifics and perks:

Monday and Friday 9-6
10 to 6 on Thursday
9 to close on Tuesday and Wednesday (usually no later than 7)
Free lunch on Wednesday
December 23rd to January 1st off for Christmas Vacation
Final dates to be determined with selected candidate
