This full-time, M-F position is available immediately and involves managing long-term nonfiction book projects while working closely with the author, subject, and freelance researchers. Must be highly organized with specific attention to details.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Project management, including scheduling
• Editing
• Writing
• Research
• Fact-checking
• Compiling photos and captions
• Staff supervision of in-house editors
• Conducting telephone interviews
• Management and scheduling freelance work assignments
• Manuscript prepress review and approval of final files for release for publishing
Requirements:
Candidates must have a minimum of 5+ year’s experience.
Experience working with corporate liaisons and senior executives and leadership is essential. Proven written and oral communications skills are required. Must be skilled at conducting online research as well as additional research experience working with sensitive archival materials. This position requires a dedicated self-starter capable of meeting company deadlines and objectives, working independently, and overseeing staff and schedules.
Although we customarily use the Chicago Manual of Style, on occasion, specific projects require us to adopt AP style. Knowledge of both is required. Telephone interviewing experience a plus.
Must have Microsoft Office Suite experience within a Mac OSX environment, as well as InDesign/InCopy experience.
