The Encoding Coordinator is a member of the Studio Encoding team in the Media Fulfillment division of HBO Studios and is responsible for the ingest, transcode, tracking and distribution of file based content for clients throughout HBO. This includes both tape and file based workflows. This position works directly with clients to define workflows, troubleshoor issues and answer questions.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Analyze, process and track incoming requests to completion.
• Work with clients to ensure requests are processed to thier satisfaction.
• Perform technical quality control checks on all processed files.
• Deliver content digitally as required.
• Use and maintain internal process mechanisms to facilitate back-end operations.
• Work with other departments within the Media Fulfillment group to process overflow work by request.
• Bill for work performed using Xytech Pulse system.
• Identify, troubleshoot and report technical issues that impact Studio Encoding workflows. Work with Operations and engineering to determine an dtest resolutions to these issues.
• Collaborate with other areas of MPO on the creation of new systems and workflows to expand the capabilties of Studio Encoding and the surrounding Fulfillment areas.
• Assist remotely located editors with deck support tasks-loading, routing,monitoring decks-as needed.
• Cross train with other operational areas and assist as needed for Disaster Recovery scenarios and general day to day coverage.
• Maintain all necessary documentation for the workgroup operations including metrics for reporting.
REQUIREMENTS
• College Degree preferred.
• At least two years of relevant experience.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time wisely.
• Strong communication and client services skills. Friendly can-do attitude and ability to stay calm in high-pressure environment.
• Hands-on expericence with video transcoding software and digital delivery solutions.
• Basic knowledge of digital video formats, transcoding and delivery methods.
• Experience with viedo, audio and sync routing; operation of HDCAM, DigiBeta, DVC Pro, IMX and other broadcast tape decks. Soild understanding of video fundamentals including: sync, time code, standards, formats and frmae rates.
• Willingness to be flexible with scheduling on short notice and put in vovertime as needed. This postion may require night and weekend shifts.
