RNN employs more than 200 award-winning journalists and multi-platform producers, reporters and editors, and supplemental video resources from regional, national, and international news partners and continues to recruit highly skilled and highly engage staff to further its mission.

RNN is currently recruiting for a Junior Broadcast IT Engineer who will responsible for providing outstanding technical support to RNNTV. Install, maintain and perform preventive maintenance on all technical equipment necessary to support studio show production and postproduction editing. Assist in equipment and facility preparations for live television production when needed.

Required:


Use of Windows XP/NT/2000/2003 server & workstation, including Active Directory, a must
General understanding of digital video formats.
Working knowledge of fiber optic distribution systems as well as LAN/WAN/VPN, Video over IP and VOIP technologies are important
CCNA and/or MCSE preferred.
Digital Video Servers
Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving are essential. Applicants should be comfortable troubleshooting systems at the component level.
Mac OS & Final Cut Pro experience
Fiber Optic Distribution Systems
DTV Transmitter experience a plus
Knowledge of Broadcast Production
General Satellite Knowledge
Grass Valley Routing Systems
Video over IP
Final Cut Pro NLE Systems
Broadcast Automation System Experience
Must be able to read technical drawings/documentation
SDI-SD & SDI-HD Digital Video
Non-Technical Skills
Must be well organized, detail oriented and possess excellent skills(both written and verbal)
In addition to working well independently, must also work well as part of a team
Ability to work well with people at all levels

Bachelor’s Degree in related field. 1 year experience in all related IT systems required. CCNAand/or MCSE preferred. Prior experience using Windows XP/NT/2000/2003 server and workstation, including Active Directory. Use of fiber optic distribution systems as well as LAN/WAN/VPN, Video over IP and VOIP technologies.
