GOVERNING Magazine is currently seeking a Web News Editor to conceive, plan, coordinate and help produce content covering a variety of different topics for Governing.com. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about journalism and has interest in topics such as Education, Finance, Health and Human Services, Infrastructure, Politics and Public Safety.

Recognized as the most credible and authoritative voice in its field, GOVERNING provides nonpartisan news, insight and analysis on issues of interest to state and local public officials around the country.

Working with a team of experienced reporters, you will be responsible for editing and managing the flow of daily news stories for Governing.com. You will work with our writers to pitch and assign specific stories, as well as edit stories for accuracy, style and content.
We are looking for candidates with an ability to produce clear, concise and accurately written articles (as demonstrated by published writing samples) with strong editing skills. Editing experience, especially online, a must. Proficiency with basic HTML, sophisticated content management systems (Clickability preferred) and related tools and technologies. Demonstrated ability to assign, edit and manage several reporters, as well as manage and develop sources. Knowledge of AP style. Ability to shoot, edit and produce iOS video is preferred.
