Job Requirements The Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago seeks a full-time Media Relations Manager to assist the Director of Media Relations in the Communications and Community Engagement (CCE) department in promoting the exhibitions and programs of the museum to the media, along with other departmental activities. Primary responsibilities include researching and writing media materials including media calendars, press releases, media advisories, and comprehensive media data reports; conducting extensive pitching; and media follow-up. The Media Relations Manager works together with the CCE team on departmental goals and strategies, and on the major new branding initiative for 2014.


Bachelor’s degree is required. Five years media relations experience is highly desirable. Must have strong writing, communication, and computer skills, along with an interest in the arts. General mobility throughout all museum properties and ability to communicate clearly in English required. The full-time schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm with occasional evenings and weekends for events and performances as needed.
