Job Requirements Duties and Responsibilities
The Associate Editor will be a key member of the editorial staff. S/He will provide creative direction, original writing and thorough editorial review of sports nutrition content to ensure that STACK is engaging and educating its audience of millions of athletes and fitness enthusiasts nationwide.

Using his/her knowledge of sports nutrition, the Associate Editor will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality, credibility and authority of STACK’s content. Day to day responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

-Generating compelling article ideas and writing original content for STACK.com and STACK Magazine within the nutrition category as well as other possible focuses

-Conceptualizing and pitching feature story ideas for print and online

-Recruiting and managing a team of expert content contributors

-Researching studies, reports and trends within the nutrition category

-Assigning and editing expert-contributed and staff-written articles to ensure they adhere to AP and house style guidelines and are accurate, actionable and logically structured

-Participating in creative direction of content strategy, artwork and page design

-Assisting with photo shoots to ensure STACK has quality artwork options across all content offerings

-Securing and assisting in production of video shoots

-Providing social media support to help drive audience growth and engagement


Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned nutrition editor with significant experience in the digital media space, who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

-Minimum of 5-7 years of nutrition-focused editing experience

-Meticulous approach to their work and extremely detail-oriented

-The ability to maintain high-quality work while meeting tight deadlines

-Working knowledge of health, fitness and athlete lifestyle

-Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills

-Experience with WordPress a plus
