ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:
NBC Universal has an opening for a Graphics Playback Operator supporting NBC Network Studio Operations

JOB PURPOSE: The Graphics Playback Operator prepares multi-format graphics and operates electronic graphics devices to provide elements for live broadcasts

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Format and organize graphics, prepare effects and test equipment to execute the show plan
• Operate multiple list driven graphics devices for play-out to air while maintaining high technical standards
• Operate graphics devices for on-air lower-thirds and/or various graphics integration including full screens, animations, OTS cutouts and talent box locators
• Coordinate graphics details with Directors, Technical Directors, Producers, Artists and Operations Managers
• Check content for accurate spelling and grammar
• Responsible for compliance with all applicable company policies


QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a live news, entertainment and/or sports production control room environment
• Minimum 2 years of experience preparing and playing-out graphics for air
• This position is an NABET Local 11 Represented job. Successful candidate will be required to join the NABET Local 11 Union upon employment if not already a member.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be available for all shifts, including weekends and holidays. Must be willing to work additional hours beyond scheduled shift with little or no notice
• Must be willing to work in New York City.
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be 18 years or older

DESIRED:
• Previous experience with Chyron Duet, Chyron Hyper X, Chyron Lyric Pro, Avid Thunder and Orad
• Previous experience with INews news room systems, MOS automation, Chyron Camio Graphics Management System, LUCI and Maestro I news plugins
• Advanced PC computer skills
• Extensive knowledge of live TV production processes
• Ability to think quickly, communicate well and keep pace with fast moving shows
• Strong client service and interpersonal skills and the ability to handle pressure in an on-air environment
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem resolution skills
• Ability to work in fast-paced, team-oriented environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
