Job Requirements RESPONSIBILITIES
•Producing a minimum of 5-8 quality pages on deadline daily.
•Taking templates, style sheets and branding and turn it into something beautiful.
•Ensuring the copy on each page has correct grammar, spelling and punctuation.
•Churning out eye-catching headlines and subheads when needed quickly
•Keeping informed on current events and can exercise news judgment when asked.

REQUIREMENTS
•Software knowledge: Proficiency in InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator a must.
•In-depth understanding of design principles and how to apply them to Metro's style.
•Proficiency in image processing is a must.
•An ideal candidate knows how to color correct images for newsprint, make clean clipping paths, re-touch problematic photos, and use masks and layers in Photoshop.
•Social media and web skills are a plus.
•Knowledge of AP style is a plus.

Metro the world’s fastest growing and New York’s number one free daily and online newspaper is seeking a part-time Page Designer who has the design skills of an art director with the wordsmith skills of a top-notch copy editor to help in the production of their newspapers in New York, Boston and Philadelphia.
