Job Requirements The U.S. Global Leadership Coalition (USGLC) is seeking an experienced communications professional to serve as the Deputy Communications Director. This position will be responsible for the USGLC’s state media outreach, including op-eds and press releases, stakeholder communications, and digital strategy and implementation. The position will report to the Communications Director and reside in the Washington, D.C. office.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Media Outreach in States—Develop and implement media outreach efforts in select states, build relationships with reporters and bloggers, and create media opportunities for state network leaders.
? Writing– Draft op-eds, press releases, fact sheets, talking points and other communications materials, including a bi-weekly newsletter and regular blog postings.
? Communications for USGLC Stakeholders – Write and develop effective electronic communications for USGLC stakeholders, including coalition members, Hill and Administration officials, and other VIP audiences.
? Social Media and Digital Strategy – Oversee digital and social media strategy, including website, social media platforms, and video content.
? Assist Communications Director – Provide support to the Communications Director in national media outreach, news monitoring, press for USGLC events and campaigns, and other assignments as necessary.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
? Five to seven years of media and communications experience in a Congressional office, non-profit organization, campaign, trade association, or similar environment.
? Excellent writing and organization skills.
? Strong understanding of media and on-line technologies for advocacy communications.
? Knowledge of international development, foreign affairs, and Capitol Hill preferred.
? Proficiency with digital media strategies, website and blog maintenance a plus. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
