Core Job Responsibilities:
• Manage sales relationships and call on key accounts. This includes setting and achieving sales goals, making list presentations, and developing promotions.
• Actively analyze business to improve customer efficiency by effectively managing frontlist initial orders as well as reorders.
• Conduct quarterly backlist reviews; analyze title trends, manage suggested stock levels, and maximize backlist support. Be able to process large amounts of information efficiently and the identify variances, understand what significance the variances are and implement actions.
• Conduct annual business reviews with customers in order to spot trends and new opportunities.
• Work with Operations to ensure that regular and sufficient inventory is available to customers.
• Oversee co-op budget by both forecasting and tracking spending.
• Create reports that use comprehensive data to measure performance and drive innovation.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree
• 3+ years of sales experience explicitly with experience selling media to wholesale channels
• Demonstrated skills in sales forecasting, sales goal attainment, metrics reporting, product presentations
• Able to travel at least 30% of the time
• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office

• Strong verbal and written communications skills, and the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations
• Quantifiable understanding of the book industry
• Demonstrated skills in development of relationships
• Ability to create new procedures and workflows
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to measure results and create strategy
• High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
• Experience with business models, strategy development, and data analysis
