Job Requirements The earned revenue sales manager, based in New York or Denver, is responsible for:

1. Meeting ENN’s goal of having 1/3 of its total revenue derive from earned sources within three years
2. Finding new sponsorship prospects and closing sponsorship deals in New York, Colorado, and new ENN sites
3. Developing systems for tracking the impact of sponsorships (impressions, click-through rates, etc) and reporting back to sponsors
4. Developing other earned revenue strategies for ENN (e.g. paid long-form stories, paid content, sponsored and/or ticketed events)

We are seeking candidates who are energized by our mission and excited to help us build a non-profit news organization that pioneers a sustainable business model. Candidates should have strong sales and organizational skills and some supervisory experience.

In particular, should have:

1. At least three years of experience in online media ad or sponsorship sales, with some management experience preferred
2. A high level of comfort with the exciting opportunities and challenges inherent in helping to lead a start-up organization
3. Demonstrated organizational skills and an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
About Our Company The Education News Network is a national non-profit organization that produces award-winning journalism on K-12 education issues in key markets across the country. We are mission-driven journalists who believe that an independent local press is vital to ensuring that education improves. We seek to provide deep local coverage of education policy and practice that informs decisions and actions, leading to better outcomes for children.

We are also non-profit entrepreneurs who believe that non-profit journalism must strive to become self-sustaining and that the “news vertical” model we are developing has the potential to bring in a substantial amount of earned revenue in a short period of time.

ENN plans to expand to three additional markets in the next two to three years and to as many as 20 markets within 10 years.
