Job Requirements The New York Chapter of Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) is proud to announce the creation of a new “Journalist in Residence” internship program (JIR). This paid internship is an exciting opportunity for a New York-based journalism student to have access to all EO members and their aggregate industry expertise and have multiple published articles on and off line. The ideal candidate is a New York-based journalism student who wants to cover business/entrepreneurship and will benefit from this immersion experience with local business leaders.

EO is accepting applicants for the JIR internship through August 30, 2013 and will then make a selection and announce the person to our membership in Fall 2013. This is a one-year "residency" and the selected journalist would be given access to all EO events (over 30 a year featuring prominent guest speakers), introduced to the membership via our private online platform. There is a moderate monthly stipend attached.

Internship Expectations:

  • 1 full-length article per month on an EO member

  • 10 social postings each month

  • Work with EO Communications Committee to create content as needed

  • Attend EO events for free with high level guest speakers

  • This is an independent work position. No EO office in New York


Outlets for JIR articles:
Articles and posts would focus on member stories or industry trends affecting members. The articles would appear in our internal newsletter and would also be submitted for consideration in EO's global blog Overdrive (http://blog.eonetwork.org) and print magazine, Octane. The JIR would also be part of pitching stories about EO to media outlets, with the support of EO's communication committee.
