ELA Editors - High School

Job Requirements Edgenuity is currently looking for 2 project-based, full time associate editors to join our NYC based ELA team to help develop new courses for 9th and 12th grades; we are also looking to add to our base of freelance writers to help us develop these courses. The project-based position is scheduled to end in April 2014 and will be based from our downtown NYC office and is not a work from home opportunity.

Essential Functions:
• Writes, reviews, and edits interactive online lessons for grades 6-12.
• Supports editorial team in the development of course requirements and scope/sequence documents by helping to align lessons to Common Core Standards and key state standards.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams throughout the development process.
• Follows course guidelines to maintain pedagogy of courses instruction.
• Performs other duties upon request.
Desired Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in liberal arts, education or a related field, Master’s Degree Preferred.
• Two year’s teaching or editorial experience required.
• Highly motivated with excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and problem solving skills.
• Self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills, self-directed and able to handle multiple priorities with demanding timeframes.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a high-quality results-driven, team oriented environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Working knowledge of NetSuite and/or CRM database software preferred.
