The Production Department is looking for a Rights Manager to negotiate and obtain cover art rights and licensing terms for all HarperCollins print and E-Book titles. This individual will be in charge of managing all Foreign Rights for covers and providing information and assets to foreign publishers. This position requires a self-starter who can work independently while exercising effective verbal and written communication abilities. It is ideally suited for a dynamic, detail-oriented individual with exceptional organization and record-keeping skills.
*Please note that this position will be permanently located in South Brunswick, NJ but for the 1st several months, it will be located our NYC Office*
Responsibilities:
• Manage cover rights process for HarperCollins trade books
• Negotiate fees for image files for cover print and E-Book use
• Investigate photo credit contact information
• Enter E-Book cover right information into PIX
• Research contracts for image usage and terms
• Provide support for the digital imaging department including maintaining reports and metrics
• Pre-flight PDF files; prepare artwork for printing and E-Book use
• Output proofs for routing and approvals
Requirements:
• Minimum 3-5 years of related experience
• Must possess college degree
• Detail-oriented, well organized, able to set priorities and juggle multiple projects under pressure
• Must be able to work well with Art Directors, various internal departments and external vendors
• Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
• Experience in Microsoft Excel
• Experience in Mac OS
• Adobe Creative Suites Experience a plus
