Job Requirements One of the marketing tools available to members is the annual NAPW Legacy Registry, an exclusive, hard-covered book where members can promote their businesses and personal brand through a detailed biography and professional-looking photograph.

These entries need to be edited for adherence to the NAPW style guide, as well as for length, grammar, punctuation, spelling and tone.

This role is located in Long Island, NY and requires you to be on-site three (3) days a week. Immediate start date.

The copy editor will be assigned entries and is responsible for:
•Reviewing entries to determine which are complete (.ie., have robust content) and which require additional copy.
•Contacting members and/or researching online to obtain additional professional information to create a complete entry. Additional information gathered must then be incorporated into the entry.
•Reviewing and editing member-generated content for adherence to NAPW style guide, length, grammar, wording, spelling and tone.
•Reviewing and editing member demographic information for adherence to NAPW style guide.
•Maintaining an accurate work log to document and report productivity.


Desired Qualifications:
•1-3+ years copy editing experience.
•Excellent written skills, with strict attention to spelling, punctuation and grammar.
•Meticulous approach to detail.
•Comfort working with proprietary software as well as proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
•Comfort with writing on behalf of member(s) while adhering to the NAPW style guide.
•Must be extremely organized, self- motivated and enjoy working within a team environment.
•Ability to meet tight deadlines.
•Four-year degree or related work experience.
