Chicago-based B2B publishing company is seeking a detail-oriented associate editor. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating all phases of editorial production for two monthly magazines, in addition to writing magazine features, working with contributing editors and freelancers to ensure material complies with in-house style, proofreading magazine copy, promotional writing and social media. Strong copy editing skills are a must because the position will require reviewing documents for layout of text and graphics and checking for typograpical and grammatical errors.
The position requires a minimum of three years of editing and reporting experience in the manufacturing industry or other technical field, strong writing and interviewing ability, project management experience, knowledge of QuarkXPress, HTML and content management systems, experience with using social media in a business environment, basic Photoshop skills, and a bachelor’s degree in journalism or English.
Some travel required. This is a full-time position with benefits, including paid vacation and sick days, 401K, and health and dental coverage.
