| Job Requirements |
The Manager of Marketing & Communications (MMC) supports the development and implementation of marketing WICT programs and initiatives through a variety of channels such as traditional and social media, membership and branding.
RESPONSIBILITIES
General, Program & Membership Marketing
• Assist the VP of Communications in evolving marketing and branding strategy, including the creation of marketing plans and time lines for WICT programs, events, and initiatives.
• Support the Senior Director of Communications & Interactive Media in creating written marketing communications.
• Ensure the timely development marketing pieces, including promotion pieces.
• Assist the Director of Member Services in evolving the marketing strategy for membership retention and new member acquisition.
• Offer consultation and assistance to Director of Chapter Services and WICT chapters regarding their marketing strategy and products. Successfully handle ongoing department budgetary duties as assigned.
• Maintain a cooperative and close working relationship with staff, the WICT chapter network, the Board of Directors, WICT membership and volunteers.
• Travel to special events, board meetings, and other WICT programs as requested.
Website/Electronic Communications Technology
• With Senior Director of Communications & Interactive Media, maintain the WICT website consistent with established marketing and branding standards, and ensure that the website promotes current and accurate WICT information.
• Assist with training of staff on website technology when necessary.
• Ensure the successful implementation of all electronic communications with members, directors, the media, etc. by adhering to appropriate policies and procedures.
• Create and manage groups/discussions on WICT Connects as directed.
• Offer advice and consultation to WICT chapters interested in developing websites and other electronic communications.
Media Outreach
• Assist the VP of Communications in executing on the overall media outreach strategy.
• With Senior Director of Communications & Interactive Media, develop written media communications.
• Maintain press database and create appropriate media lists.
• Serve as point of contact for media requests. Note that the MMC is not WICT’s media spokesperson.
• Offer advice, consultation, and assistance to Director of Chapter Services and WICT chapters regarding their media strategy and products.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
• Bachelors degree in marketing, communications, public relations or English and/or equivalent relevant experience
• Exceptional verbal and written communications skills
• High level of computer literacy, with extensive experience with social media and online interaction technology
• An interest in women’s leadership issues is highly beneficial.
POSITION DETAILS
• The MMC reports to the Senior Director, Communications & Interactive Media.
• Some travel may be required.
• This position is full-time, non-exempt from overtime regulations, and based in Washington, DC.
• Salary commensurate with experience, with health, retirement, paid leave and other benefits available.
