At the Mr. Food Test Kitchen, we're looking for someone who appreciates everyday home cooking. If you have a passion for cooking and writing, then this might be the place for you. However, we don't do haute cuisine. If you spend Saturday nights comparing notes on different Bordeaux vintages over charcuterie platters, then this probably isn't the job for you. We want a writer who can communicate no-nonsense recipes and ideas quickly and conversationally.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to researching, writing and editing content for our nationally syndicated TV segments, organizing the production schedule, planning new shows, crafting press releases, writing advertorial content for promotional purposes and updating the corporate website.
Experience required:
- Degree in English, journalism or communications-related field
- At least four years of professional writing experience
Skills required:
- Ability to write creatively and conversationally
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Outlook, Word
- Familiarity with basic cooking techniques and terminology
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to work in a deadline driven environment
- Team player with a positive, enthusiastic attitude
- Ability to effectively manage workload
- Ability to collaborate on projects and both receive and offer constructive criticism
