Under the general direction of the Director of the Arts, acts as primary and sole liaison between the department and assigned Account Executive (AE) in the Marketing department to ensure execution of integrated marcom plan. Uses marketing skills/experience to evaluate, place, and execute all job orders for department work; serves as AE's primary contact, ensuring timely, accurate execution of all marketing materials. Consults with AE and acts as liaison for academic department Director, Program Director, and Program Representatives and as needed to ensure accurate, planned, strategic and efficient production of marketing materials. Works with AE, Marketing Research Manager (MRM), and Marketing/ Director to complete annual strategic and tactical marketing plans including budget; works with Marketing to execute plan. Works with academic department Financial Analyst as needed to provide accurate budget reporting to Director, and works with MRM to report on marketing activities. The department of the Arts consists of the following units: Architecture; Landscape Architecture, Visual Arts; Writers’ Program and Entertainment Studies.
Qualifications
• Demonstrated superior project management skills and experience, including ability to juggle, prioritize and organize multiple, complex tasks and meet deadlines. Well organized, detail-oriented, and able to develop schedules, and work independently under pressure.
• Minimum 2 years experience as a successful account rep/copywriter in an ad agency, or in retail bank marketing, or in consumer package goods marketing, including hands-on experience executing print and online production to achieve marketing goals. Understanding of marketing/marketing plans.
• Experience writing advertising and marketing copy, editing sales-oriented copy for email, web and direct mail with proven response and following best practices.
• Strong understanding of print/online/design/brand and marketing terminology, processes, best practices and trends. Knowledge and understanding of print, design and web/online processes. Understanding of public relations as relevant to marketing strategies.
• Background using market research and analysis, including the ability to analyze information and make appropriate recommendations for marketing.
• B.A. in Marketing, advertising or related field is preferred.
