With profits and revenue falling, newspaper companies are increasingly looking to real estate to shore up their finances. In some cases financial pressures are forcing newspapers to sell their property as a quick way to come up with cash. In others, especially papers acquired by private-equity firms, the new owners are simply trying to squeeze as much money out of the operation as possible.
Newspapers Need to Get Over 'Objectivity' When It Comes to Climate Change (E&P)
Steve Outing: I don't think newspapers are doing enough. Indeed, newspapers' fabled commitment to "objectivity" has been a detriment to efforts to combat global warming. Apple Launches TV Service in the U.K. (BBC)
British fans will be able to download episodes of Lost, Desperate Housewives and Ugly Betty as Apple launches its video downloads service in the UK. Initially 28 series will be available with Apple promising more content soon. There is currently little UK-produced content, although ITV, Channel 4 and the BBC all offer their own download catch-up TV services.
