Don’t know how we missed this one, but definitely worth mentioning: Dr. Ruth Westheimer, the grande dame of sex and relationships, is launching Dr. Ruth Vin d’Amour, a wine with a slightly lower alcohol content (six percent) that’s meant to help couples relax without getting completely bombed.
The wine will be available in July in restaurants, grocery stores, and bodegas; will sell between $6.99 and $9.99; and part of the proceeds will go to the Museum of Jewish Heritage.
“If sex follows or not, it doesn’t matter. It’s about finding and communicating with a significant other,” she Dr. Ruth told the New York Post.
Given her popularity, especially during the 1980s, she got tons of offers for branded items, including panties and popcorn, but she’s always said no. With this, it seems, she found something more in line with her philosophy about relationships.
With an 84th birthday coming, a new book to promote, Sexually Speaking, a BBC documentary, and a new job at Columbia University’s Teachers College, Dr. Ruth got a lot of coverage the past few days. In case you’re unfamiliar with the Dr. Ruth brand of straight talking, check out the video above where she discusses about Fifty Shades of Grey. Wow.
