Univision Communications has promoted Luis de la Parra, a 16-year veteran with the company, to SVP on the Innovation Marketing Team. He was previously director of on-air promotions, working on programming like Eva Luna and the FIFA World Cup in 2010. And Mark González has joined the Univision’s IMT as VP and creative director. He has worked with agencies including JWT and McCann Erickson. The IMT is a new integrated consumer engagement group.
Porter Novelli has appointed three new partners: Bill Kolberg, EVP/MD of the firm’s Los Angeles office and head of the McDonald’s account; Linda Martin, EVP/MD of the Irvine and San Diego offices and lead on the Almond Board of California account; and Stephen McCauley, EVP and director of the food, beverage, and nutrition group based out of Washington. According to the firm, the “partner” title is a recognition of contribution to the firm, but doesn’t entail a change in responsibility. The firm has 22 partners across its international network.
Rene Spellman has joined MWW Group as VP in the youth marketing and entertainment group. Spellman previously worked with the Obama administration’s White House Council for Community Solutions as an advisor for strategic comms with young audiences. She was also a White House liaison with the Department of Education after working on President Obama’s first presidential campaign.
Phyllis Piano has joined APCO Worldwide‘s International Advisory Council as a senior counselor. She was most recently the VP of corp comms and philanthropy at the biotech company Amgen. She’s also served as a VP of public affairs for electrical products manufacturer Cooper Industries, and VP of corporate affairs and comms at Raytheon Company.
