The Radio Television Digital News Association has announced today that our distinguished colleague Steve Kroft will receive this year's
prestigious Paul White Award. It is a wonderful choice for RTDNA and a well-deserved honor for Steve. Steve's journalism is exemplary: thorough, balanced, insightful, fresh, human and always riveting. Steve had a tremendous season last year; his election coverage, the financial stories that explained complex but crucial economic issues and his other timely reports really stood out. Steve's pieces for 60 Minutes this season already have garnered acclaim and created massive buzz. It's the kind of work Steve's been doing his whole career.

The Paul White award is named after the CBS Radio news great who, as the first news director, created CBS World News Roundup. Steve's body of work over the years has not just earned him awards, it stands as a testament to what we here at CBS News have known all along: Steve Kroft is one of the truly great journalists of this generation.

Please join me in congratulating Steve on this well deserved honor.
