Bill O’Reilly Re-Signs with Fox News

Bill O’Reilly has signed a new, multi-year deal with Fox News Channel.

Terms were not released, but Brian Stelter reported last week that new deals with both O’Reilly and Sean Hannity would keep both at the network through the 2016 elections.

In making the announcement, Fox News co-founder and chairman Roger Ailes called O’Reilly, “a tremendous force in the business” who has “helped make Fox News the success story it is today.”

“It’s been great fun in challenging the establishment and exposing the corruption across the nation,” said O’Reilly. “‘The Factor’ takes pride in holding people accountable and I especially look forward to the exciting news cycle ahead. Fox News has become the primary force in television news under Roger’s leadership and I’m delighted to continue there for years to come.”

O’Reilly joined Fox News in 1996, as host of “The O’Reilly Report,” which was re-named “The O’Reilly Factor” when it moved to primetime in 1998. The show has been number one in its 8pmET timeslot for more than 11 years and been the #1 show in cable news for more than 10 years.

Prior to joining FNC in 1996, O’Reilly anchored the nationally syndicated, “Inside Edition” for six years and before that he worked at CBS News and ABC News.
