Cable Network Ranker: Japan Propels FNC and CNN Toward Top of Chart

The situation in Japan boosted CNN by 17 spots in primetime and 20 spots in total day, while pushing Fox News channel’s to third overall in total day for the week of March 7th-March 13.

As was the case the last two weeks, FNC placed 2nd of all cable networks in primetime, behind only USA Network. CNN placed 12th, up from #27 last week, while MSNBC was 24th.

In total day, FNC placed third overall behind only Nickelodeon and nick at Nite, while CNN placed 7th, up from #27 last week, while MSNBC was 28th.

Another ratings note: The Wrap reports that last week, even though host Glenn Beck was off, his fill-in Andrew Napolitano sustained his numbers. That is sure to add fuel to the fire as to what Beck and Fox News do when the host’s contract ends in December.
