Charlayne Hunter-Gault Leaves CNN

Host Tumi Makgabo on this weekend’s Inside Africa on CNNI: “And before we go we’d like to send our well wishes to Charlayne Hunter-Gault. She’s leaving CNN. Our managing director, Chris Cramer, aptly described Charlayne as the person who’s often been relied upon to define much of our network’s coverage from Africa over the past six years. From apartheid to the HIV-AIDS pandemic, Charlayne always went after the hard news. But she also knew how to cover an Africa unknown to many, a place of community and love.
