This morning marked the initial, beta launch of CNN's iReport.com, an "uncensored, unfiltered, unedited, user-generated" website, as described in a network press release.

The site came about after CNN's original iReport initiative, begun 18 months ago, "generated nearly 100,000 video, photo and text submissions to CNN.com", according to the release. Many of those submissions made their way onto CNN's website, and on-air (on the CNN networks), after being selected and vetted.

All iReport.com submissions will be available right away for viewing, and CNN will not censor nor screen the site. Site users, though, can ask for review of questionable content by a third-party moderator.

"CNN is tremendously excited to launch this new global community site," Susan Grant, EVP of CNN News Services said in the release. The full launch of iReport is slated for March.
