Colorado Shooting: Ann Curry To Anchor ‘Dateline’ On NBC And Co-Anchor ‘Today’ With Savannah Guthrie, As News Takes Over Primetime
Former “Today” anchor Ann Curry will return to NBC tonight to anchor the network’s coverage of the shooting in Colorado. Curry will anchor a special edition of “Dateline” live from Aurora, Colorado at 9 PM, and will also appear on “NBC Nightly News. It will be Curry’s first appearance on NBC since she left “Today” on June 28th.
Saturday morning Curry and Savannah Guthrie–who replaced her on “Today”–will co-anchor the morning program from Colorado. Guthrie will also report from there this evening. Matt Lauer is leaving for London tomorrow and will begin anchoring Olympics coverage on Monday.
Meanwhile, as we noted earlier Scott Pelley will anchor a special edition of “48 Hours” from Colorado at 8 PM ET on CBS, and on ABC Chris Cuomo will anchor from Colorado, and Diane Sawyer from New York for a special “20/20″ at 10 PM ET.
