“Countdown with Keith Olbermann” Sorkinized?

olbermann_4-10.jpgIn an Entertainment Weekly story urging Aaron Sorkin back to television, Lynette Rice floats the idea of a behind-the-scenes drama (a la “Studio 60″) about a cable news show:

Word is that Sorkin is mulling over the idea of a new TV drama that takes a behind-the-scenes look at a cable news program (think: Keith Olbermann‘s show on MSNBC)

The idea the lead character could be based on Olbermann is not entirely surprising, or new — in a 1999 interview, Sorkin told Olbermann he was the “origin” for one of the leads in his prior series, “Sports Night.” “I sat in this hotel room for thirteen months writing The American President,” said Sorkin. “To keep me company, I would have SportsCenter on.”
