Inauguration Coverage: BBC and C-SPAN

• BBC America and BBC World News begins convention coverage on Tuesday at 11:00amET. Huw Edwards of the BBC will anchor live from Capital Hill with Matt Frei. The newscast will air on BBC services around the world, reaching more than 280 million households.

• C-SPAN will cover all major 2009 inaugural events, beginning Saturday through Tuesday's inauguration. Coverage on Tuesday starts at 6:00amET with a special "Washington Journal" and continues each day until MidnightET.

Live coverage of the inauguration itself begins on BBC AMERICA and BBC World News at 11:30 a.m. ET (TBD) on Tuesday, January 20.

Veteran BBC newsman Huw Edwards* will anchor the program live from Capitol Hill with BBC World News America anchor Matt Frei. They will be joined by leading BBC News correspondents Katty Kay, Rajesh Mirchandani, Jon Sopel and Clive Myrie, who will report from key points around Washington DC.

Contributors will include historian Robert Dallek and Harvard Law School Professor Charles Ogletree, who taught both Barack and Michelle Obama.

In addition to the U.S. the newscast will air on BBC services across the UK and around the world to over 280 million television households on BBC World News.

*Huw Edwards anchors Britain's most popular television nightly newscast, BBC News at Ten. He joined the BBC more than 20 years ago and has presented a wide range of flagship BBC News programs including long-running investigative program Panorama. He is a regular anchor on BBC News Channel, the BBC's 24-hour news network, and has covered numerous major events including the death of Pope John Paul II.

C-SPAN's will have Live Coverage of all major 2009 inaugural events, beginning Saturday, January 17th in Philadelphia with President and Vice President-elects Barack Obama and Joe Biden. C-SPAN will cover all event stops on their way to Washington, DC via train, and continuing through Inauguration Day, Tuesday January 20th. C-SPAN will also cover major events around Washington, DC leading up to Inauguration Day.

Schedule:
# BEGINNING SATURDAY JANUARY 17TH: LIVE coverage of President-elect Obama as he makes his way to Washington by train, including rallies in Philadelphia, Wilmington, and Baltimore.

# ON SUNDAY JANUARY 18TH: LIVE coverage of an Inaugural Kick-off event on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial welcoming the President-elect and Vice President-elect and their families to the Capital.

# ON MONDAY JANUARY 19TH: Archival Speeches from Past Presidential Inaugurations

# ON TUESDAY, JANUARY 20TH: LIVE coverage throughout the day of the events surrounding the inauguration of the next President of the United States.

Coverage starts with the Washington Journal at a special time of 6:00 am ET, and coverage continues all day until 12:00 AM. Coverage includes:

The departure of President Bush from the White House;
Gavel-to-gavel coverage of the Inaugural Ceremony on the West Front of the U.S. Capitol;
The Congressional luncheon for the new President;
The Inaugural Parade along Pennsylvania Avenue from the Capitol to the White House, and
The Inaugural Balls.
